Job Summary:

Established in 1999, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC is Pennsylvania’s oldest professional soccer team and one of the longest-operating pro soccer teams in the United States. The team plays its home games at Highmark Stadium, which opened in 2013 as a team-owned, soccer-specific stadium in Pittsburgh’s South Shore neighborhood. The team is an original member of the USL Championship, which began play in 2011 and has grown to become the world’s largest second-division pro soccer league.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC of the United Soccer League is looking for a Box Office Operations Manager to join our team and manage event operations of the Highmark Stadium Box Office. As the Box Office Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and closing of the stadium box office, managing a staff of ticket sellers and service representatives, and providing the highest levels of fan service. Duties include but are not limited to the following: manage gameday staff of ticket sellers, monitor entry scanners performance and results, perform opening and closing duties including bank count and inventory reconciliation, troubleshoot any ticket issues that arise, and provide a high level of fan service.

This regular, full-time position offers a base salary plus commission. The salary is negotiable based on experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the ticket office during games and select non-soccer related events.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Ticketing and Sales Team.
  • Build and maintain stadium manifest for events.
  • Manage inventory and provide reports regarding game sales.
  • Run weekly sales reports as requested by the Senior Director of Ticketing and Team President.
  • Effectively communicate information regarding the events and venue.
  • Verify cash reports and balance ticket sellers at the close of shifts; assist with preparing cash banks and deposits.
  • Provide the highest level of service, ensuring all issues are resolved efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist with the management and training of Box Office and Event Day staff.
  • Answer questions about Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and assist guests with questions, directions, etc.
  • Maintain a level of patience with guests (complaints, lost items, general directions).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business management, marketing, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience preferred, but not required.
  • 1-3 years of Box Office Operations experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with ticketing systems; Ticketmaster product knowledge preferred.
  • Professional sports internship experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask while providing reports and summaries as directed.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Strong ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient abilities with Microsoft Office.
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach to customers and contacts to convey a positive organizational image.
