Job Description:

We are seeking a professional and customer-oriented Golf Shop Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will assist PGA TOUR players, Members, and Guests with their golfing needs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of general business practices and retail sales, typically acquired through one to two years of similar experience.
  • Previous customer service experience required.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assist PGA TOUR players, Members, and Guests with their golfing needs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable golf experience.
  • Greet and welcome Members and Guests professionally and courteously.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Members, Guests, and fellow staff members.
  • Answer questions and provide assistance and information to Members & Guests.
  • Schedule future starting times and communicate information pleasantly and professionally.
    • Accurately record time and date of reservation in the online reservation system.
    • Make corrections and update the online reservation system as appropriate when reservations are filled or canceled.
    • Email and telephone members/guests to verify advance reservations.
    • Advise guests of any abnormal golf course conditions (overseeding, aerification, etc.).
    • Communicate with local hotels/resorts concerning golf course conditions.
  • Accurately open, operate, and close the point of sale system per the Club Operations Manual.
  • Handle and count cash, make accurate change, record credit cards, gift certificates, and Member charges per standard operating procedures.
  • Collect green fees, cart fees, and other incomes.
  • Assist with physical inventories as required.
  • Ensure the continued cleanliness and appearance of the Golf Shop, storage areas, and merchandise displays.
  • Maintain par stock inventory levels and ensure the appearance meets or exceeds standards.
  • Professionally communicate information, sell merchandise, and become knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques.
  • Anticipate the needs of Members and Guests and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives.
  • Assist with all closing procedures for the Golf Shop.
  • Communicate up-to-date information accurately and effectively using radio communications to all areas of the golf course (i.e., Caddie master, outside operations, maintenance, etc.).
  • Handle special projects or other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations is required.

Travel:

  • Travel is not expected for this position.

Work Schedule Expectations:

  • This position requires shifts as necessary based on business levels.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
