Gameday – Media Runner
Description

The Houston Texans are seeking a part-time Gameday Media Runner to join our Media Relations team. This role is crucial in assisting with the setup and operation of the Press Box on game days, ensuring smooth communication and support for media personnel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup of the Press Box on game day with seat cards, flip cards, game day programs, and seating charts.
  • Hand out quotes, make copies, and assist the media as necessary.
  • Run copies of quarterly stats to media, broadcast booths, teams (if requested), or designated suites.
  • Transcribe quotes for distribution to media.
  • Assist staff in other areas such as media vest registration and Media Will Call.
  • Be available to spot for visiting radio teams if requested.
  • Perform various other tasks assigned by the Strategic Communications Manager or other full-time Communications staff.

Skills Required:

  • Experience in a professional or collegiate sports communications department preferred.
  • Strong writing skills with proven experience in the use of AP Style preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and work effectively under pressure and within deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Occasional travel related to job duties and responsibilities.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, from a four-year accredited college or university in Communications or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, stand, walk, sit, drive, bend, squat, climb, twist, and reach as necessary.

Additional Information:

Subject to reasonable accommodations, this position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.
