This position provides direct support to staff and players in our MLS NEXT “Pro-Formation” age groups (U14 and U15). The role offers an opportunity to work with the club’s top prospects, preparing them for the Pro-Pathway Phase (U16 and U18) and the transition to our MLS NEXT PRO team (Crown Legacy FC) and MLS 1st Team. The desire to work as part of a collective team, coupled with a commitment to personal and professional growth, is critical for both our players and staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist Head Coaches with training session design and execution.
• Assist with match preparation and advanced scouting.
• Collaborate on Individual Development Plans (IDP) for all players.
• Attend all matches and travel with Academy teams as required.
• Provide formal and informal player reviews as directed by the club.
• Lead Coach in the CFC Discovery Program, a 32-week talent ID and development collaboration with clubs across the Carolinas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• USSF “A” or “B” coaching license (or foreign equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
• At least 5 years of coaching experience.
• Experience within a professional youth development environment preferred.
• Knowledge of the MLS Player Development Pathway.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• Availability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
• Video editing and presentation capabilities.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• This position operates in a professional setting and on-field training environment.
• Local travel to events is required.
• Must attend all Charlotte FC Academy matches, home and away.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to sit for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to climb stairs.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures.
• Must work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
