This position provides direct support to staff and players in our MLS NEXT “Pro-Formation” age groups (U14 and U15). The role offers an opportunity to work with the club’s top prospects, preparing them for the Pro-Pathway Phase (U16 and U18) and the transition to our MLS NEXT PRO team (Crown Legacy FC) and MLS 1st Team. The desire to work as part of a collective team, coupled with a commitment to personal and professional growth, is critical for both our players and staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist Head Coaches with training session design and execution.
- Assist with match preparation and advanced scouting.
- Collaborate on Individual Development Plans (IDP) for all players.
- Attend all matches and travel with Academy teams as required.
- Provide formal and informal player reviews as directed by the club.
- Lead Coach in the CFC Discovery Program, a 32-week talent ID and development collaboration with clubs across the Carolinas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- USSF “A” or “B” coaching license (or foreign equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of coaching experience.
- Experience within a professional youth development environment preferred.
- Knowledge of the MLS Player Development Pathway.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Availability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
- Video editing and presentation capabilities.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.

- This position operates in a professional setting and on-field training environment.
- Local travel to events is required.
- Must attend all Charlotte FC Academy matches, home and away.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to sit for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures.
- Must work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
