Houston Christian High School (HC), a member of the Southwest Preparatory Conference, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Girls’ Softball Head Coach. This is a part-time, seasonal position requiring after-school, evening, and weekend hours.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of softball and coaching high school athletes.
• Development of assistant coaches.
• Experience in building a highly competitive program.
• Ability to successfully recruit middle school players.
• Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student athletes.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all participants.
• Serve as a Christian role model in all settings.
• Manage overall operations of the program, in and out of season.
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director to manage the program budget.
• Supervise activities and promote positive community relations.
• Support the multi-sport athlete philosophy of the school.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of coaching experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
• High-level knowledge and skills in program operations, including practice plan development.
• Strong work ethic, energy, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
• Excellent communication skills, including interactive social media experience.
• Strong public relations skills and ability to build relationships across the school and athletic community.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative, servant leadership-oriented management style.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
• Able to motivate student athletes to reach their full athletic potential.
• Proficient in basic technology applications, specifically Google Apps (Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail).
• Understand and agree with the philosophy and mission of HC.
• Ability and desire to guide students toward fulfilling their God-given potential for spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

• Ability to build relationships with teachers, students, and parents.
