Recreation Assistant/Front Desk Gym
Description
Duties:
- Perform and/or assist in the operation of the recreation activity.
- Conduct basic fitness orientation, identify and correct unsafe fitness techniques.
- Supervise intramural sporting events, clean and maintain facility and equipment.
- Perform administrative duties as needed.
- Understand basic fitness principles through in-house training.
- Report to the Fitness Coordinator or Sports Coordinator.
- Establish schedules of events, apply rules and regulations for supervising youth participants in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Set up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events; schedule and conduct tours.
- Demonstrate procedures common to activities and instruct the use of related equipment.
- Plan and coordinate details of recreational activities and maintain related supplies.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants.
- Oversee the sale of retail items associated with activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Conditions of Employment:
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of a background investigation.
- Must pass the E-verify employment verification check.
- Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process with two forms of identification.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Work includes lifting up to 45 lbs., with assistance for heavier weights.
Qualifications:
- Experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform duties specific to this position.
- Specialized experience must demonstrate the ability to carry out day-to-day operations independently.
- Six months to one year of work experience in a related recreational activity.
- Must be mature, physically fit, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service experience required.
- Basic Fitness Certification within 90 days of appointment, must possess and maintain a current CPR and AED certification.
- You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part-time experience.
