Assistant Sports Performance Coach
Description
  • Develop strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes for assigned teams, adhering to policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide a consistent and high-quality training experience, ensuring the safety and development of the assigned sport programs.
  • Enable student-athletes to perform to their physical potential through the development and management of individual and group weight, strength, and fitness training programs.
  • Evaluate current physical conditioning, understand various sports and associated exercises, tailor strength programs for specific needs, demonstrate proper performance of exercises, and correct mistakes.
  • Monitor progress and provide assessments of development.
  • Promote commitment, teamwork, and develop working relationships.
  • Establish rapport with and ensure open lines of communication with the coaching staff, student-athletes of all teams, and athletic training staff.
  • Assist in the administration of the entire program, including daily weight room practices and conditioning responsibilities.
  • Provide an overall positive environment for the strength and conditioning development of all student-athletes.
  • Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of collegiate coaching experience in the designated sport required.
  • Understanding of and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Commitment to the mission of Jesuit higher education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and CSCS certification required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in strength and conditioning at the university/college level.

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses:

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
  • Current CPR certification.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet, and email applications.
