The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month position with full benefits as an Assistant Coach for Track & Field. This role reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the administration of all phases of a Division I Intercollegiate program.

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-field coaching and instruction for student-athletes.
• Recruit talented athletes and coordinate recruitment activities.
• Edit video footage and prepare game strategies.
• Assist with scheduling, team organization, and the supervision of student-athletes.
• Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes.
• Manage the ordering and maintenance of equipment.
• Foster strong alumni relations and engage with the broader UMES community.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous coaching experience at the High School, Collegiate, and/or Professional level.

• Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, alumni, and the public.
• Proficiency in video editing and game preparation.
• Thorough knowledge of team organization, scheduling, and working with student-athletes.
• Ability to monitor academic progress effectively.
• Competence in ordering and managing equipment.
• Strong managerial and oversight skills.
