After School Volleyball Coach
Description
Bank Street School for Children is looking for a passionate and dedicated After School Volleyball Coach to join our Upper School Volleyball Clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience coaching youth athletes, particularly in the 5th – 8th grade range, and a strong understanding of social and emotional learning principles. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement practice plans.
- Conduct practices and coach games 2 to 3 days a week.
- Set up and clean up equipment and facilities before and after practices and games.
- Handle administrative responsibilities as necessary.
- Communicate weekly with families via email.
- Build relationships with students, faculty, and family members.
- Uphold BSC's values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Supervise students and staff members throughout sports clinics.
- Mentor students and model professional leadership.
- Implement safety measures to ensure student well-being.
- Oversee the dismissal of students after every practice.
Schedule:
- Days: Weekly Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Dates: September 10, 2024 – October 31, 2024 (adhering to the BSC calendar)
- Practices: 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
- Games: Home games start at 3:30 PM and typically end by 5:00 PM. Away games may end by 6:00 PM depending on location.
Pay Rates:
- Head Coach: $40–$50 per hour
- Assistant Coach: $25–$30 per hour
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience playing or coaching volleyball with youth athletes/school-age children.
- Ability to attend team practices and meetings from September to October.
- Experience in youth sports and family engagement is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
