Athletic Trainer for Sport Clubs
Description
This is a part-time staff position providing athletic training services to participants in UNC Campus Recreation activities, specifically Sport Club events. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices, competitions, and other events.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency and one year of health care experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Some positions may require licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of North Carolina.
Optional Level Guidelines:
- Contributing Level: High school diploma or equivalency, one year of health care experience, and one year of on-the-job training in the administration of physical therapy treatments; or High school diploma or equivalency and two years of on-the-job training in physical therapy.
- Journey Level: Completion of an approved two-year school for Physical Therapy Assistants and two years of experience in the area of specialty; or High school diploma or equivalency and three years of on-the-job training in the administration of physical therapy treatments, including instruction in anatomy, physiology, and skeletal biomechanics; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with NATA Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
- Licensure under the Athletic Trainer Licensure Act (G.S. 90-525, 528).
- All degrees must be obtained from appropriately accredited institutions.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
- This role requires involvement and commitment typical of athletic trainers. Availability for weekend, night, and holiday coverage is necessary.
