Position Summary: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Coach to lead our Women’s Soccer Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering all aspects of the program in compliance with University, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and directing practice and competition activities, developing player skills, recruiting, organizing and conducting clinics, mentoring student-athletes, fundraising, and managing administrative tasks necessary for the program's operation. The candidate must demonstrate integrity, leadership, and a strong commitment to motivating, teaching, counseling, and recruiting academically qualified student-athletes. Additionally, the coach will promote the academic progress of student-athletes both on and off the field and demonstrate an ability to lead and inspire through athletics.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent).
  • At least 1 year of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities. The specific experience requirements are determined at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, leadership, and thorough knowledge of soccer.
  • Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations is essential.
  • A strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically focused student-athletes.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

  • Successful intercollegiate coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to become CPR and first aid certified.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements: The role requires both mental and physical readiness to meet the demands of coaching at a competitive level.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities: This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery Act. As a CSA, the head coach will be responsible for reporting Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and completing annual training on reporting responsibilities.
