Catawba Valley Community College is seeking a passionate and motivated Women’s Softball Coach to lead, develop, and maintain a competitive softball program. The primary responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the team’s operations, coaching, recruitment, and player development while ensuring academic success, good sportsmanship, and adherence to institutional, conference, and NJCAA rules.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the women's softball program, including practices, competitions, and team management.
• Plan and implement practice schedules, game strategies, and conditioning programs that promote player skill development and performance.
• Recruit qualified student-athletes who meet both the academic and athletic standards of Catawba Valley Community College.
• Foster a positive team culture, emphasizing sportsmanship, personal growth, and academic achievement.
• Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring eligibility and encouraging academic success.
• Coordinate travel arrangements, game schedules, and other logistics associated with team competitions.
• Manage the program budget responsibly, including inventory and ordering of equipment, uniforms, and other necessary supplies.
• Promote the softball program within the community and work with Athletic Department staff to enhance the visibility of the team.
• Ensure compliance with all institutional, conference, and NJCAA rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with Athletic Department personnel on fundraising initiatives, events, and community outreach programs.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing character development, leadership, and teamwork.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience coaching softball at the collegiate, high school, or club level.
• Strong understanding of NJCAA rules and regulations.
• Proven experience in recruiting and developing student-athletes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to academic and athletic success for student-athletes.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience coaching at the community college level.
• Experience with strength and conditioning programs for athletes.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes and foster a positive team culture.
