Description
Intermountain Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive athletic training services to student-athletes at West Jordan High School. This position will work closely with coaches, physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety, health, and wellness of student-athletes by preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training services at West Jordan High School, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletes.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for athletes in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of athletes, documenting evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
- Provide emergency care and first aid to injured athletes during practices, games, and events.
- Assist in the design and implementation of conditioning programs to reduce the risk of injuries.
- Educate athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention, proper equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Act as a liaison between student-athletes, coaches, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive care plan.
- Oversee compliance with safety protocols and guidelines during training and competition.
- Support the athletic department with administrative tasks related to sports medicine and athlete health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field.
- Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
- Current Athletic Trainer licensure in the state of Utah or eligible to obtain licensure.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Strong understanding of sports-related injuries and rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing situations, and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Previous experience working in a high school or similar setting is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:
- This position requires regular evening and weekend hours to cover athletic events.
- Must be physically capable of assisting athletes in high-stress situations and during injury rehabilitation exercises.
- Work is performed indoors in a clinical setting as well as outdoors on athletic fields.
