ATH - Head Coach - Girls Wrestling
Description
Adams County School District 14 is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and enthusiastic Head Coach for Girls Wrestling. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching, guiding, and supervising athletes while maintaining high standards of professionalism and student-athlete development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching & Athlete Development
- Coach students in wrestling fundamentals, techniques, and sportsmanship.
- Foster a team-oriented environment, focusing on discipline, cooperation, and positive behavior.
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and team personnel.
- Compliance & Policies
- Follow rules and regulations set by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), National Federation rules, and district policies.
- Ensure athletes meet eligibility and participate in conditioning and practice in compliance with state law and district routines.
- Communication
- Establish professional relationships and maintain open lines of communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Keep the Athletic Director and Head Coach informed of athletes’ progress, issues, or special needs.
- Professional Development
- Attend clinics, conferences, and other educational events to stay updated on current trends and techniques in the sport.
- Supervision
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, and events.
- Ensure the safety and proper conduct of all participants.
- Administrative Duties
- Assist in the planning and organization of practice schedules, game strategies, and team-related activities.
- Comply with district reports, policies, and guidelines.
Requirements:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification:
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience as an assistant coach.
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques and fitness conditioning.
- Collegiate or professional wrestling experience preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with athletes, staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of fitness, safety, and conditioning practices essential to athletics.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Movement & Physical Activity:
- Regular walking, running, standing, kneeling, and lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Ability to work in a range of environments including gyms, locker rooms, athletic fields, and weight rooms.
- Must maintain emotional control under stress and work irregular or prolonged hours as required.
- Environment:
- Will involve frequent travel between campuses and events, including out-of-state meetings or conferences.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Head Coach, based on established district standards and goals.
Compensation:
Position will follow the district’s Supplemental Pay Schedule, based on experience as outlined in the Classroom Teachers’ Association (CTA) Certified Agreement.
