Sports Coordinator
Description
Crossroads YMCA is seeking a dedicated Sports Coordinator to join our team! As a Sports Coordinator, you will support the Y’s mission of strengthening the community by promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Your role involves overseeing sports programs, ensuring member satisfaction, staff development, and operational excellence. You will help lead an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members, staff, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, growth, and operation of sports programs to align with the Y’s strategic goals.
- Supervise shifts, working 80% of the time in direct service with members.
- Recruit, hire, train, and support team members, providing ongoing coaching and evaluations.
- Schedule and process payroll functions for team members.
- Respond to member and community inquiries promptly and effectively.
- Lead efforts to support community engagement, fundraising campaigns, and donor relations.
- Adhere to YMCA policies and ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
- Support the expansion of new programs within the community.
- Perform additional duties as required to contribute to the organization’s success.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in program coordination or sports-related roles.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and ability to adapt to various technology platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. On-call availability required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs., and remain standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid (preferred, but training will be provided if necessary).
