Columbus Crew is seeking an Academy Assistant Coach to work with and assist the Academy Technical Staff. This position, based in Columbus, OH, requires frequent travel, both domestic and international. The Academy Assistant Coach will play a key supporting role in the successful implementation of the Academy Methodology and Style of Play and will be vital in the development and monitoring of professional soccer players within the Columbus Crew Academy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the organization and supervision of players for Academy matches and training sessions.
• Assist in the design and execution of daily team training sessions.
• Assist in the implementation of small group supplemental training sessions for players.
• Assist in the design and monitoring of player Individual Developmental Plans.
• Assist in the talent identification and scouting process for the Academy.
• Track player statistics during matches and input data into Academy tracking software.
• Assist with Pre-Academy programming as a lead coach.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Academy Director.

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities:

• U.S. Soccer C License or working towards obtaining.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant coaching experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-performing environment.
• Availability to travel when necessary and work evenings, weekends, and holidays with some irregular hours.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Expertise with video editing software and visualization.

• Ability to work technically both on the field and in the office.
• Enthusiasm for continued learning is extremely important.
• Experience working with local/grassroots soccer stakeholders would be considered an asset.
• Ability to think quickly and act with diligence and speed while utilizing an attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• A passionate student of soccer who believes in the positive impact of the sport on our youth.
