The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2024-25 season.

Work Schedule:

• 2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m) Monday-Friday with various nights and weekends during the season.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Support the Head Baseball Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of baseball.
• Attend all practices and have the ability to coach at an individual, small group, and team level.
• Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Communicate effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
• Participate in special events, including banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
• Follow and maintain knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Abide by strict confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
• Concussion certification.
• Experience coaching baseball at the high school level preferred.
