Comcast Spectacor oversees the Wells Fargo Center and its major transformation project, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia Wings lacrosse team, the Maine Mariners hockey team, the Flyers Training Center, the Seoul Infernos OWL team, and Spectacor Events and Entertainment, a growing live events business that has already brought successful new events to the Philadelphia area. Comcast Spectacor is headquartered at the Wells Fargo Center (WFC) in Philadelphia, PA. The WFC, the 4th most highly attended arena nationally and 7th most attended in the world, is home to 270+ events per year, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Wings, Villanova, concerts, and events. Comcast Spectacor is a wholly owned subsidiary of Comcast and maintains connected and disconnected networks within the Wells Fargo Center.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Coach to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the head coach of the hockey team. This role requires in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in coaching. The Assistant Coach will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and usually determines their own work priorities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work with specific units on the team as assigned by the head coach (power play/penalty kill/defense).
  • Attend all games (home and road) and practices.
  • Run parts of practices as directed by the head coach.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
  • Bring creative ideas to staff meetings.
  • Work with XOs Catapult video system.
  • Create pre-scouts for the next opponent.
  • Run skills, practices, and pregame skates.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
