Assistant Coach, Baseball
Description
The Baseball Assistant Coach, under the direction of the head coach, provides instruction in the sport of baseball and assists in the planning, promotion, and administration of a quality Division I baseball program.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in managing all aspects of the NCAA Division I baseball program, including:
- Recruiting
- Planning practices and competition
- Scheduling
- Managing program budgets, academic progress, and compliance
- Work hours will vary by season and may entail early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
- Travel is required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- One year of successful baseball coaching experience at the college, professional, national team, club, or high school level
- Ability to train and recruit at the Division I collegiate level
- Ability to accept and carry out assigned program and responsibilities
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well with students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community
- Ability to pass the NCAA recruiting test and have a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively within the structure and framework of an Athletics Department and University
- Demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically
- Commitment to building a positive team culture and personal and professional development of student-athletes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Experience as a Division I student-athlete
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting salary is $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- This position includes up to 15 holidays and sick days.
