Description

Stanford University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Track and Field Coach specializing in assisting with the horizontal and vertical jumps. This is a twelve-month, full-time, full-benefited position that reports to the Director of Track and Field. The Assistant Coach will be directly responsible for administering and/or assisting with all areas related to the success of the Track and Field program within the Division I intercollegiate program, adhering to the policies established by the NCAA, ACC, and Stanford University. This is a one-year fixed-term position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with coaching men's and women's jumps, including horizontal and vertical jumps.
  • Develop and implement training programs for student-athletes.
  • Assess, identify, and recruit top student-athletes to compete at Stanford.
  • Arrange team travel logistics for practices and competitions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all jumps and sprinting techniques.
  • Demonstrate a passion for coaching and developing student-athletes.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, staff, and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, ACC, and Stanford University policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff in budget development and record-keeping.
  • Embrace change and welcome fresh perspectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience coaching men’s and women’s jumps at the college/university level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all jumps and sprinting techniques.
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience coaching multi-events student-athletes is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing trends and circumstances.
  • Demonstrated integrity and adherence to high ethical standards.

Salary: The expected pay for this position is $66,560-$75,000 per annum.
