Assistant Football Strength and Conditioning Coach
Description

Oregon State University is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our athletic department as an Assistant Football Strength & Conditioning Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising strength and conditioning programs for the football team, promoting physical fitness, injury prevention, and athletic performance enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strength and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of the football team.
  • Collaborate with the head coach, sports medicine staff, and other strength and conditioning coaches to optimize training outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess athletes' progress, adjusting training programs as necessary.
  • Instruct athletes in proper strength and conditioning techniques, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
  • Maintain a clean and safe training environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, practices, and other related activities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in strength and conditioning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Valid strength and conditioning certification (either CSCS or SCCC).
  • Valid CPR / AED / First Aid Certification.
  • Previous experience working in a strength and conditioning role, preferably with collegiate or professional athletes.
  • Strong understanding of sport-specific conditioning, strength training, and injury prevention techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working specifically with football athletes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in athletics.

This definition includes, but is not limited to, parents, legal guardians, handlers, personal trainers, mentors, and coaches. Providing false or misleading answers may result in disqualification or termination.
