Assistant Golf Coach
Description
- Actively participate in daily practice and training sessions for student-athletes on the Men’s and Women’s Golf teams, focusing on skill development and game knowledge.
- Conduct skill instruction sessions with student-athletes using the Full Swing Golf Analyzer program to enhance performance.
- Assist the Head Coach in identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes.
- Help secure travel arrangements under the direction of the Head Coach.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and direct them to appropriate resources if academic intervention is necessary.
- Participate in fundraising activities to support program needs beyond the budgeted funds.
- Assist in planning the department’s Annual Golf Tournament with the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
- Serve as a member of the Game Day staff as needed, under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director.
- Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to promote the efficient operation of the Athletic Department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in collegiate golf or as a golf teaching professional required.
- Team management and training/conditioning experience at the collegiate level preferred.
- Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules, as well as university and departmental policies.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Certifications:
- First Aid/CPR certification required.
- A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license required.
