Assistant Golf Coach
Description
  • Actively participate in daily practice and training sessions for student-athletes on the Men’s and Women’s Golf teams, focusing on skill development and game knowledge.
  • Conduct skill instruction sessions with student-athletes using the Full Swing Golf Analyzer program to enhance performance.
  • Assist the Head Coach in identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes.
  • Help secure travel arrangements under the direction of the Head Coach.
  • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and direct them to appropriate resources if academic intervention is necessary.
  • Participate in fundraising activities to support program needs beyond the budgeted funds.
  • Assist in planning the department’s Annual Golf Tournament with the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
  • Serve as a member of the Game Day staff as needed, under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director.
  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to promote the efficient operation of the Athletic Department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1+ years of experience in collegiate golf or as a golf teaching professional required.
    • Team management and training/conditioning experience at the collegiate level preferred.
    • Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules, as well as university and departmental policies.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Certifications:
    • First Aid/CPR certification required.
    • A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license required.
