Assistant Manager Sports Marketing - Basketball Grassroots
Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the execution of category initiatives by placing product buys and forecasting distribution of products based on the internal event calendar.
  • Lead product workstreams and seeding activations for all grassroots basketball events and calendars.
  • Coordinate with Sr. Manager to help scout next-generation athletes across NCAA, High School, and Grassroots while maintaining a database and relationships of potential future signings (Girl’s and Boy’s).
  • Maintain healthy relationships with coaches, directors, partners, and athletes ensuring a premium level of service.
  • Coordinate administrative program operations such as order tracking, filing, budgeting, and related correspondence.
  • Coordinate product distributions based on seasonal availability to create opportunities to influence purchasing decisions of the consumer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Heavy travel and overtime may be required during peak season, up to 40%.

  • Extensive knowledge of assigned sport/category.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work across teams and manage priorities to accomplish multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to present effectively to groups, including members of all organizational levels.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude in fast-paced, changing environments.
  • Ability to communicate with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams within and outside the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).

Qualifications

  • Four-year college or university degree, emphasis in marketing or business preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training in Basketball Sports Marketing or a related function within Basketball.
  • Expert level knowledge of the Basketball landscape.
  • Knowledge around Basketball products.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for a degree.

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is ($75,000-$80,000). Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
  • We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Los Angeles, CA.
