Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience Requirements:

• Prior coaching and competitive basketball experience required
• Collegiate coaching experience preferred

Certifications/Licenses:

• Valid Driver’s License preferred

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Working knowledge of NCAA Division II rules preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to support and lead student-athletes

Job Summary: The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach will work alongside the Head Coach, supporting the program’s strategic and operational functions. The Assistant Coach will play a key role in scouting, recruiting, planning, and executing practices and competitions, while also contributing to the holistic development of student-athletes.

Essential Functions:

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff in a manner consistent with Jefferson’s values.
• Attend all staff meetings organized by the Head Coach.
• Assist in scouting opponents and recruiting new student-athletes.
• Aid in completing necessary forms and administrative tasks related to the basketball program.
• Help in planning and executing practice sessions and game-day strategies.
• Take on other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, including conducting drills, managing equipment, overseeing managers, public relations, and maintaining statistics.
• Assume Head Coach responsibilities in their absence.
• Provide support in all facets of the basketball program to ensure its success.
