Assistant Mens Soccer Coach - FP1ENCREDCOACH
Description
  • Serve as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach of an assigned College of DuPage Intercollegiate Sports team.
  • Provide coaching leadership that aligns with the College of DuPage mission, vision, and core values.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the sport, including practices and games.
  • Ensure compliance with all College of DuPage and NJCAA eligibility and academic progress requirements for student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Admission to recruit prospective student-athletes from high schools, following NJCAA guidelines.
  • Adhere to all college policies related to team budgets and overall college financial practices.
  • Assist in arranging travel and transportation and manage funds for team travel.
  • Monitor sportsmanship and conduct of student-athletes on and off the field/court.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with college and athletic department policies, procedures, and core values.
  • Attend coaches department meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as determined in consultation with the Athletic Director or designee.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates degree, or a combination of education and coaching experience equivalent to 2 years, is required.
  • Experience:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of innovative and proven coaching strategies and techniques is required.
    • Proven leadership abilities, with a commitment to fostering a positive and productive playing environment for all team members, are required.
    • Proven ability to provide mentoring and leadership to student-athletes and a commitment to student-athlete welfare is required.
    • Knowledge of and adherence to NJCAA rules/requirements relevant to the conduct of an intercollegiate program is required.
    • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups is required.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills are required.
    • Ability to work and/or travel on a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, or limited overnight assignments, is required.
  • COD Training: CPR/AED certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work extended hours during specific sport seasons for practices, games, and recruiting.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have or acquire any coaching certification or license required for coaching.
  • This position is subject to a criminal and motor vehicles background check.
