Description

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), a renowned research institution and member of the NCAA Division III and University Athletic Association, is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Assistant Swimming and Strength Coach to join the Department of Athletics. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the athletic and academic progress of student athletes and contributing to the university's overall mission.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist with skill instruction, motivation, and practice sessions under the direction of the Head Coach.
  • Support the planning, implementation, and supervision of dryland training and weight training.
  • Display a genuine interest in the personal, academic, and athletic development of student athletes.
  • Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior, working towards the goals set by the Head Coach.
  • Demonstrate leadership and professionalism in interactions with student athletes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years of previous coaching experience required; prior strength and conditioning coaching experience is preferred.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered if comparable knowledge is demonstrated.
