Laramie County Community College (LCCC) is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced individual to join our athletic staff as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. The Assistant Coach will support the Head Women's Basketball Coach in all aspects of the women’s basketball program, including recruiting, planning practices, game management, and player development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coaching, mentoring student-athletes, and promoting academic and athletic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting all aspects of practices, conditioning, and team activities.
• Support the recruitment of prospective student-athletes who are committed to both academic and athletic excellence.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and encouragement to student-athletes both on and off the court.
• Assist in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements and are successful in their studies.
• Participate in game preparation, including scouting opponents and developing game strategies.
• Assist with team travel arrangements, including scheduling, transportation, lodging, and meals.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes respect, integrity, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
• Assist with the organization and execution of fundraising activities to support the program.
• Represent LCCC and the women’s basketball program in a professional manner in interactions with staff, students, parents, and the broader community.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience in coaching basketball at the high school, college, or club level.
• Strong knowledge of the game of basketball, including rules, strategy, and skill development.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with student-athletes, staff, and the community.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Preferred:

• Previous collegiate-level coaching experience.
• Experience in recruiting student-athletes.
• Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire).

Working Conditions:

• This is a part-time, seasonal position with irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel during the basketball season.
• The Assistant Coach will work indoors (gymnasium) and occasionally travel for away games.

Compensation:
The compensation for this part-time position is commensurate with experience.
