Athletic Development Coach
Description
  • Plan and lead athletic development coaching, education, testing, and support for U.S. Ski & Snowboard Teams, including but not limited to:
    • (Movement) Skill competency assessment and development.
    • Strength and power development.
    • Speed, agility, and change of direction practices.
    • Athlete education.
    • Testing, analysis, and evidence-informed prescription.
    • Sport science, innovation, and research.
  • Function as a key member of the High Performance Management Team, integrating directly with sport team personnel, appropriate directors, and High Performance Pathways Coordinator, Director of Sport Science – Action & Endurance, and High Performance Director.
  • Function as a key member of the Return to Sport Management Teams with athletic reconditioning for injured athletes.
  • Contribute to the U.S. Ski & Snowboard High Performance Department by upholding and enhancing our culture.

  9. A motivation and drive to make a system-wide impact.
  10. Ability to travel frequently for various training events, both nationally and internationally as required.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Driver License.
  2. A minimum of undergraduate studies in a high-performance coaching related discipline, such as physical education, strength and conditioning, sport science, kinesiology, or related subject.
  3. Current certification as an NSCA-CSCS, or international equivalent.
  4. 3+ years of applied athletic development experience (coaching) with elite, developmental, and youth athletes.
  5. Currently authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred:

  1. Graduate studies in a high-performance coaching related discipline, such as physical education, strength and conditioning, sport science, kinesiology, or related subject.
  2. Ability to ski and/or snowboard.
  3. Current U.S. Ski and Snowboard Level 100 Coaching Certification or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
