Description
Major/Essential Functions
- Responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses, as well as day-to-day operation of Texas Tech Softball and assisting with other sports as needed.
- Appropriately utilizes injury management software.
- Maintains communication and a cooperative relationship with coaches, administrators, parents, and student-athletes.
- Acts in accordance with physician supervision and prescribed treatment plans.
- Serve as a preceptor and assist in administering the athletic training student program.
- Record and maintain medical information complying with HIPPA and FERPA.
- Possesses and complies with appropriate certifications and licensures, including BOC and/or Texas Licensure, CPR, and AED training.
- Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of experience as an athletic trainer. Additional related education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Must be licensed as an athletic trainer within the United States and be expected to obtain a Texas license or certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
- Master's degree.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that could include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
