Certified Athletic Trainer
Description

Concentric Methods is seeking a skilled and certified Athletic Trainer to join our team, supporting service members in an outpatient setting at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. This position focuses on providing comprehensive athletic training services, including injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

The Certified Athletic Trainer will be responsible for a full range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Providing services in accordance with guidelines established by the National Athletic Trainers Association, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
  • Preventing, recognizing, treating, and rehabilitating injuries.
  • Evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries using various modalities such as progressive resistance exercises (PRE), proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), manual therapy, hydrotherapy, cryotherapy, ultrasound, and more.
  • Treating soft tissue damage, acute and chronic edema, post-surgical recovery, and biomechanical imbalances.
  • Providing emergency first aid, initial injury evaluation, and preliminary diagnosis.
  • Designing and fabricating protective equipment, pads, and braces, utilizing proper taping techniques.
  • Participating in regular unit meetings and contributing to in-service training for healthcare and non-healthcare staff.
  • Attending meetings and providing input to improve patient care practices and team collaboration.

Job Requirements:

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (CAATE).
  • Current Certification in Athletic Training through the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC).

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer post-graduation.
  • Experience working with professional, collegiate athletic teams, or military personnel within the last 12 months is preferred.
  • Experience with computerized injury tracking programs.

Additional Qualifications:

  • This position is subject to credentialing.
  • Must possess and maintain a fitness level sufficient to participate in Marine Corps physical training activities, such as conditioning hikes and obstacle courses.
