Description

The Golden State Valkyries are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Manager to oversee and manage all equipment-related needs for our Oakland and San Francisco campuses. This role is critical to ensuring our athletes and Basketball Operations staff have the necessary equipment and apparel to perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all equipment for Oakland and San Francisco campuses.
  • Order athletic equipment and apparel for Valkyries athletes and Basketball Operations staff.
  • Oversee inventory of athletic apparel and equipment; distribute to departments.
  • Place orders and successfully budget team allotments on Nike Gameday Site.
  • Manage team fuel bars for both campuses.
  • Fit players and staff with proper sizes of equipment and uniforms.
  • Co-manage the Basketball Operations Coordinator.
  • Serve as the main point of contact while at the Visiting Team’s campus; liaise between the Visiting Team, Chase Center, and Golden State Valkyries.
  • Oversee the physical condition of the Visiting Team’s Campus by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair, and requisitions for replacement.
  • Manage and source practice players; create schedules and availability for practices and shoot-arounds.
  • Supervise team attendants for home games.
  • Schedule, manage, and approve timecards for visiting team attendants and Ball Persons.
  • Implement controls to capture various equipment inventory levels.
  • Manage transportation requests as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience handling basketball equipment for a collegiate or professional basketball team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and resolution skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and provide creative solutions independently.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment.

Time Commitment:

  • Available to work overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Compensation:

  • $85,000 - $95,000 + Bonus.
