Event Manager- Venue Operations
Description

Under the direction and leadership of the Assistant Account Manager and/or Account/Area Manager, the Event Manager oversees and coordinates all aspects of event operations, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements, operational planning, and service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and address issues occurring at events, forwarding them to the Account Manager/Area Manager and/or Client as appropriate. May be responsible for writing reports or assisting with investigations as directed.
  • Respond to client or site emergencies, ensuring appropriate communication with Account Manager and/or Client, Area Manager.
  • Maintain positive client/security relationships through frequent team and client contact and support.
  • Serve as the direct supervisory contact for Event Supervisors regarding performance, operations, and department needs. Supervise, motivate, coach, train, and evaluate the work performance of direct reports, making recommendations regarding assignments as required.
  • Assist with coordinating all aspects (technical and managerial) of executing event operations at the assigned location, including responding to client requests.
  • Assign work tasks to Event Supervisors, including Event Staff and Event Security, to direct work throughout the event.
  • Coordinate and conduct on-the-job training through the development and improvement of standard operating procedures, including orientation to the post, review of orders, routine responsibilities, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures and training information are properly maintained and updated, and all positions are properly maintained, cleaned, and organized.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of professional-level experience required. Prior experience in security, event staffing, law enforcement, and/or military preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year previous experience in customer service, security, or a related field.
  • Previous security, military, EMS, or law enforcement experience preferred, but not required.
  • Articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion, understanding the significance of notifying superiors and colleagues when appropriate.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; proficiency in the English language.
  • Adaptability – Responds effectively to changes in situation or information.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear. Required to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours). Occasionally required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. Position may require work in confined spaces and exposure to various outdoor weather conditions. Must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
