Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Executive Steward to join our team. This role involves leading the planning and execution of event menus for Banquet Catering and Concessions Programs, maintaining high food quality, and ensuring all facilities are kept sanitary and orderly. The Executive Steward will work closely with the Executive Chef and other team members to create memorable events and maintain efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of event menus for Banquet Catering and Concessions Programs.
  • Maintain the highest level of food quality through effective management of the culinary team.
  • Ensure consistent and timely production of food items.
  • Maintain sanitary and orderly physical facilities in accordance with business practices and Health Department requirements.
  • Provide creative input for menu and event ideas, staying current with industry trends.
  • Maintain a balanced budget, guided by the Executive Chef, for inventory, pricing, and staffing levels for all concessions events.
  • Foster high team morale.
  • Plan large-scale food production as directed by the Executive Chef and company policies.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of needed paper goods and food items in coordination with the Executive Chef and Purchasing Manager.
  • Demonstrate good business practices in labor and cost controls, product utilization, and inventory controls to ensure the highest quality product in a cost-effective manner.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with logistical planning and execution of events.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Team player with strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Natural leader with a passion for the job.
  • Knowledge of budget management, labor costs, Microsoft Office, and email communications.
  • Must live within 25 miles of College Park, GA.
  • Professional appearance, good personal hygiene, and respectful conduct towards all customers and contacts.
  • Knowledge of sanitizing stewarding practices and food handling skills.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily based at Gateway Arena or GICC.
  • Requires physical work, with an emphasis on organization, event set-up/break-down, leadership, and kitchen maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Uniform Requirements:

  • Adherence to company uniform guidelines as outlined in the Associate Handbook and orientation guidelines.
  • Non-slip shoes are necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of moving through the kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces.
  • Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
  • Ability to bend, lift, scoop, and carry miscellaneous equipment and food items, lifting up to 40 lbs.

Position Salary & Benefits:

  • This is a salaried, full-time position.
  • Provides Basic Life and AD&D, as well as long-term disability at no cost to employees.
