Overview: The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes baseball club is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager. This position holds overall responsibility for revenue generation, game operations, and the day-to-day management of the club. The successful candidate will participate in strategic planning, set goals, and develop strategies and tactics to achieve them. They will create action plans and monitoring tools for the staff to achieve revenue and other goals, ensuring timely reporting to ownership. The General Manager will also actively engage the community to build the ‘Shoes brand.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Lead revenue generation and game operations.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes baseball club.
- Participate in strategic planning and goal setting.
- Develop action plans and monitoring tools for staff.
- Report progress and results to ownership.
- Engage the community to build and promote the ‘Shoes brand.
Marketing:
- Develop and execute in-person marketing strategies with defined metrics.
- Oversee the management of business web elements, including the website and social media.
- Help create, manage, and execute team promotions and year-round events.
- Oversee the development of marketing collateral and copy.
- Ensure team social media channels are current and engaging.
- Write press releases and radio copy as needed.
- Focus on increasing revenue through sponsorship, season, and group ticket sales.
- Capitalize on alternative revenue sources.
Baseball Game Day Operations:
- Oversee the design and execution of game day scripts and operations.
- Manage and supervise game day execution and quality control.
- Ensure all in-game marketing commitments are met.
Management:
- Oversee all seasonal staff.
- Monitor sales, fulfillment, and reporting to sponsors.
- Recruit interns through online postings and career fairs.
