Bentley University is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Club Coach for its Cheerleading team. As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for the overall management, coaching, and development of the Cheerleading Club. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a strong background in cheerleading, including choreography, safety guidelines, and competitive performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the cheerleading club, including practices, performances, and potential competitive events.
- Develop a comprehensive practice plan focused on improving skills, safety, and team dynamics.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all team members, emphasizing sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth.
- Choreograph routines for sideline performances, halftime shows, and other university events.
- Organize and manage practices, ensuring that they are conducted safely and effectively.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with team members, athletic department staff, and the broader campus community.
- Ensure all cheerleading activities follow institutional policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cheerleading trends, regulations, and techniques to provide the highest level of training and guidance.
- Encourage student involvement and oversee recruitment initiatives for prospective cheerleaders.
- Assist with organizing and scheduling cheer events, as well as transportation and logistics for away performances.
- Work in collaboration with the university’s athletic and club sports departments to build a positive presence for cheerleading on campus.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cheerleading coach at the collegiate, high school, or competitive level.
- Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, choreography, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary, for practices, games, and events.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to foster a positive team environment and provide mentorship to student-athletes.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED preferred.
- National Cheerleading Association (NCA) or Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate cheerleading techniques and physically participate in practice sessions.
- Must be able to lift equipment and support team members as needed.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience leading a cheerleading program.
- Familiarity with cheerleading competitions and the collegiate sports environment.
- Proven track record of fostering team growth and individual athlete development.
