Head Coach - Cheerleading
Description

Benedictine University seeks a dynamic and motivated individual to lead and manage the Cheerleading program. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing a comprehensive cheerleading program, including choreography, stunts, and gymnastics. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment that aligns with the University’s mission and Benedictine values.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Design and implement a cheerleading program that includes choreography, cheers, stunts, and gymnastics.
  • Tryouts Coordination: Plan and oversee all aspects of team tryouts, including recruitment, advertising, physical clearances, and scheduling.
  • Practice Management: Schedule, secure space, and attend all team practices and events.
  • Event Coordination: Ensure team participation in all Football, Men’s, and Women’s home basketball games, tournaments, Homecoming, Pep Rallies, and other university-related engagements.
  • Roster Management: Maintain updated team rosters and emergency contact information.
  • Professionalism: Exhibit a demeanor that reflects confidence, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

  • Maintain an appearance and demeanor that communicates confidence, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Graduate/GED Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Experience: Prior coaching experience, preferably in Athletics or a related field. Experience in college cheerleading and cheerleading competitions is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration. Demonstrated supervisory and budget management skills.
  • Certifications: Valid Driver’s License required. CPR certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Physical activities such as lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping.
  • Frequent travel, prolonged and irregular hours, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to speak clearly and understand speech, with the capability to stand for long periods.
  • General customer service and office environment.

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

Working Conditions: Office/outdoor environment. Nights and weekends required.

Training:

As a University employee, you must complete all University-specific and/or OSHA-related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person.
