Guilford College, located in the vibrant city of Greensboro, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our community as the Head Men's Golf Coach. As the Head Men's Golf Coach, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Men's Golf program, ensuring that it is conducted in full compliance with NCAA, ODAC, and institutional rules and regulations. The primary focus will be on recruiting talented student-athletes who will thrive both on the golf course and in the classroom.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct all activities associated with the Men's Golf program.
  • Provide in-person instruction and development to student-athletes to improve individual and team performance.
  • Analyze athlete performance and prepare student-athletes for competitive success.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with students, athletes, alumni, and other constituents.
  • Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes to ensure their success both academically and athletically.
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes in compliance with NCAA regulations and academic standards.
  • Coordinate all aspects of team travel, including transportation and lodging for home and away games.
  • Evaluate and purchase equipment as necessary.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of practices and games with the facility manager.
  • Participate in fundraising and public relations activities.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends, to meet the demands of the position.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment with diverse students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Serve as a Responsible Employee under the College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy, reporting any incidents of sexual misconduct or interpersonal violence to the Title IX Coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
  • Strong recruiting skills with a proven track record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and other computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of all applicable NCAA, ODAC, and institutional rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
