Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic In-Game Host to join the Bridgeport Islanders team. The ideal candidate will have strong public speaking skills, a vibrant personality, and the ability to engage and entertain a live audience. A reel or proof of work is required for consideration.

  • Strong Public Speaking: Confidently speak in front of a live audience, engaging them and conveying information clearly. A charismatic and energetic presentation style is essential.
  • Energetic and Enthusiastic: Maintain high energy levels and a vibrant personality to keep the crowd enthusiastic throughout the event.
  • Quick Thinking and Adaptability: Improvise and adapt to changing circumstances while keeping the audience engaged in the fast-paced environment of hockey games.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Build rapport with fans and staff members, creating a positive atmosphere and enhancing the overall fan experience.
  • Scripting and Hosting: Deliver engaging scripts for various segments of the game, including player interviews, fan interactions, promotions, and contests.
  • Audience Engagement: Utilize audience engagement techniques such as crowd prompts, interactive games, trivia, and contests to maintain a lively and fun atmosphere.
  • Professionalism: Represent the team and organization with appropriate attire, conduct, and communication both on and off the stage.
  • Multitasking: Manage multiple tasks seamlessly, including on-ice promotions, video clips, and live interviews.
  • Tech Savviness: Familiarity with audiovisual equipment, microphones, cameras, and video displays for smooth coordination of various in-game elements.
  • Time Management: Maintain a good sense of timing to keep the event on schedule and ensure smooth transitions between segments.
  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively with game-day staff, including production crew, camera operators, and on-ice personnel.
  • Ability to Handle Pressure: Work comfortably under pressure and handle unexpected situations with grace.
  • Creativity: Bring innovative and creative ideas for fan engagement activities and in-game entertainment.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to varying game schedules, event durations, and special themes.

Your Equipment:

  • Flexible Schedule: Must be able to work home games, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Equipped to troubleshoot and remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Public Speaking Experience: Previous experience in public speaking.
  • Extroverted Personality: Enthusiasm always when performing.

Where You’ll Go:

  • Preseason: Four rehearsals during September and October prior to the season.
  • During the Season: Total Mortgage Arena on game days.
