Position Purpose:

The Junior Swim Team Coach will assist the head coach/director of competitive aquatics and other swim team coaches to support the delivery of a high-quality, safe, inclusive, and competitive swim team program.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct stroke techniques (in and out of the pool) at swim practices as assigned.
• Assist coaching staff in supporting practices, meets, and other team activities.
• Maintain records such as attendance and progress reports.
• Promote YMCA Character Development and Core Values.
• Follow all Branch and Association policies and procedures.
• Present a professional image at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Competitive swimming or swim instruction experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate swim stroke techniques.
• Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
• Additional certifications as required by the YMCA or USA Swimming.
