Full Job Description
Overview: The part-time athletic trainer will work closely with coaches, student-athletes, departmental staff, as well as key school personnel (such as NP, PA). The athletic trainer works directly under our school physician’s standing orders and reports to the Head Athletic Trainer. The athletic trainer will provide immediate health care and first aid, orthopedic assessment, and rehabilitation services to The Lawrenceville School’s athletes.
This is a part-time position that follows the academic year. The employee will work a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Follow the training room policies and department policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Create and implement prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation programs for sport-related injuries.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Travel with and provide medical support to sport teams.
- Daily documentation of athletic injuries, illnesses, and treatments. Maintains medical records.
- Assist with the supervision of athletic training student aides.
- Management and proper fitting of sport-related equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by the physician or Head Athletic Trainer.
Qualifications:
- BOC certified by the position start date.
- Valid license in the state of NJ.
- Strong organization and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with the privacy act.
- NJ License to practice Athletic Training.
- CPR For The Professional or Equivalent.
