Duties and Responsibilities: Design and lead pickleball programs, leagues, and clinics for adults and youth. Instruct participants on fundamental pickleball techniques, strategies, and rules. Ensure proper court set-up and perform opening and closing duties. Teach pickleball classes, private lessons, and workshops. Provide constructive feedback to help participants improve their pickleball skills. Maintain cleanliness of pickleball courts and report any maintenance needs. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Ensure proper equipment is ordered and maintained. Maintain attendance records for all classes and ensure a safe, welcoming environment. Greet patrons with a positive attitude and professionally represent the City of Pittsburg Pickleball program. Support promotional events or social media campaigns as needed. Assist patrons in understanding the rating system and achieving their goals. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be eighteen years old to apply. Possession of a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Relevant certifications or coursework preferred. Preferred minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching pickleball to groups and individuals. Tennis instruction would be considered. Requires drug test, background check, and physical prior to employment. Possession of CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification desired. Position Competencies: Thorough knowledge of the sport of pickleball, including rules, techniques, and safety standards. Ability to design and deliver effective pickleball clinics and lessons. Strong customer service skills and the ability to address participant concerns. Effective communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with staff, participants, community organizations, and the general public. Working Conditions: This is primarily an outdoor position that can be working in extreme temperatures.
