Senior Manager Tournament Operations
Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Manager of Tournament Operations to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and management of our golf tournaments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to foster meaningful relationships with key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Sports Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in sports (required).
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience (required).
  • Prior exposure to golf tournaments or sports event planning/operations (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (required).
  • Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Philadelphia, PA area.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the creation of and adherence to a comprehensive business plan for the event.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with host club/venue, local sponsor representatives, local media, corporate community, hospitality industry, government/civic entities, and other community-based steering committees and golf-related organizations.
  • Interface with community leaders to foster a positive overall impression and perception of the event in the community.
  • Oversee and manage the operational requirements of the event, including:
    • Management of Construction Timeline for all temporary structures.
    • Liaison with all inspectors to ensure timely approvals of all required documentation to gain CO for the event.
    • Liaison with local officials to develop and implement security and traffic plans.
    • Liaison with the tournament caterer to develop an F&B plan for the event, including the location and quantity of concessions and layout of corporate hospitality bars, buffets, and prep kitchens.
  • In cooperation with the Executive Director, develop a portfolio of sellable assets for the event, including hospitality products and other sponsorable items, ensuring product margins are met.
  • Assume fiscal accountability for the success of the event and the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the tournament office and delegate tasks to team members as appropriate.
  • Develop and encourage staff to pursue new tasks and challenges related to overall departmental goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to departmental operations, including staffing, budget management/cost containment, and internal communication.
  • Responsible for supporting other Championship Management events.
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.
