Sports Coordinator
Description
The Sports Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and management of sports club and intramural programs. This includes game/match administration, individual/dual events, weekend tournaments, and overseeing student officials. The Coordinator ensures compliance with Campus Recreation rules and policies and serves as a liaison between officials, participants, the Graduate Assistant for Intramurals, and the Associate Director for Intramurals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage emergency situations and follow proper protocols.
- Provide first aid and direct injured participants to appropriate resources.
- Oversee the setup, use, and storage of Campus Recreation equipment.
- Address player disputes and inquiries regarding sports programs.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of student officials.
Conditions of Employment:
- Temporary position (up to 6 months), averaging no more than 29 hours per week over a twelve-month period beginning May 1.
- Eligible for overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act during peak times.
- Restricted by the availability of funding.
- Requires flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
- May involve physical demands, including extended periods of standing or sitting.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within the first 30 days).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful community.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience officiating intramural or sports club events at the collegiate level.
