The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in journalism, a passion for sports, and exceptional leadership skills. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 10 years of reporting/editing experience, with five years of managerial experience.
- Experience in building a brand on social media.
- Expertise in writing, spelling, grammar, and AP style.
- Command of media law and Principles of Ethical Conduct.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work with diverse personalities.
- Ability to multitask and excel under intense deadline pressure in a rapidly changing industry.
- Proficient in using time efficiently in a 24-hour newsroom.
- Collaborative within a cross-functional environment.
- Understanding of the competition for our customers’ time and money.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Innovative and creative thinker supporting the team’s goals.
- Employment is contingent on passing a post-offer pre-employment background check.
