We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sports Recreational Coordinator to join our team at Koa Sports. This role involves managing and coordinating our flag football, youth programs, and winter basketball in-house league to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Flag Football:
- Master Koa’s systems, including Google Suite, Humanity, Wordpress, Canva, MailChimp, Team Snap, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Flickr.
- Attend Koa’s mandatory weekly ATH meeting and biweekly/monthly Sales & Marketing Meeting.
- Handle all Flag Football game day operations including staffing coaches and referees, creating teams, scheduling weekly games, ordering jerseys, setting up and breaking down fields, inventorying equipment, ensuring compliance with rules, uploading weekly scores, and providing a great experience for all Koa athletes.
- Hire, train, manage, and oversee all Koa Flag Football staff (including coaches and referees).
- Drive the Koa vehicle to the field and properly set up/break down the flag football fields.
- Manage game day issues and disputes involving Koa staff, parents, and athletes.
- Fill in and coach or officiate flag football as needed.
- Handle all sales/registrations with the goal of selling out/growing the league.
- Professionally interact with Koa parents at any Koa event.
- Answer general Koa phone calls and flag football specific questions using Koa-provided cellular (or application) and Koa-provided email.
Youth Programs:
- Work in conjunction with Koa’s Summer Camp Director to prepare for each week of Site Lead camp, including staffing, equipment, logistics, day planning, and parent communications.
- Oversee coaches, volunteers, and campers at each week of camp.
- Ensure implementation of camp procedures, including check-in/pick-up, activities, games, and rules to keep campers engaged and safe.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date onsite camp binders and files (allergies, medications, health forms, etc.).
- Submit daily and weekly camp reports to the Camp Director.
- Track camp inventory items and submit orders with appropriate lead time.
- Assist with all No School Day Events, managing staff, coaching campers, handling equipment inventory, and parent communication.
Winter Basketball In-House League:
- Responsible for the Winter Basketball League, including parent communication, managing and training part-time coaching staff, writing practice/game schedules, handling gym cancellations and rescheduling games, and filling in as a coach/referee when needed.
- Handle all sales/registrations with the goal of selling out/growing the league.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficient in communication, both verbal and electronic.
- Strong community-building skills.
- Experience in event management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to answer customer phone calls and speak to clients in person at events.
- Capability to lift equipment weighing at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to complete 20 continuous push-ups in 30 seconds or less.
