Sports Specialist
Description
- Design and Implement Activities: Develop and supervise leisure-time activities, including individual and team sports such as weightlifting, track, basketball, softball, and flag football.
- Plan Sports Programs: Organize the institution's sports programs, including intramural sports and tournaments.
- Adapt Activities: Adjust recreational activities to meet diverse interests and needs within budget, facilities, and staff limitations.
- Publicize Events: Schedule and promote tournaments and events to ensure maximum participation and engagement.
- Maintain Security: Uphold institutional security standards in all activities and responsibilities.
Requirements
Conditions of Employment:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration: http://www.sss.gov
- Must meet specific employment conditions and pass security screenings, including urinalysis and background checks.
- Completion of the Core Value Assessment (CVA) and "Introduction to Correctional Techniques" training.
Education and Experience:
- GL-05: Bachelor's degree OR three years of relevant experience.
- GL-07: One year of graduate education or Superior Academic Achievement OR one year of specialized experience equivalent to GL-05.
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and manage sports and recreation programs.
- Experience in organizing and supervising participants in sports activities.
- Relevant work experience in roles such as athletic director, coach, or sports program manager.
