Job Summary
The Tennis/Pickleball Professional is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in both private and group settings, fostering a love for tennis and pickleball among members and guests. This role involves generating interest and awareness within the club community, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all participants.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Teach private and group tennis and pickleball lessons to members and guests.
- Interact with employees, members, and guests in alignment with the People, Places, and Programs components of the Village Standards.
- Organize, advertise, and run mixers, tournaments, round robins, and other social and competitive events.
- Organize, advertise, and manage leagues and on-going events, including teaching junior lessons and clinics.
- Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the tennis and pickleball programs.
Knowledge/Skills Required
- Professional game experience in tennis and/or pickleball.
- Customer service-focused attitude.
- CPR certification within 30 days of hire (training provided by the company).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check if teaching youth groups.
Knowledge/Skills Preferred
- Experience in the high-end health club industry.
Required Abilities
- Physical Activity: This role requires frequent standing, walking, running, grasping, swinging, bending, and kneeling on the tennis court. It involves repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, arms, legs, waist, back, and fingers. The ability to express or exchange ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, is essential. The position also requires perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction.
