Job Summary:

We are seeking a Varsity Wrestling Coach to lead our high school wrestling program. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including player development, strategy, and character-building. The coach must demonstrate exceptional leadership, sportsmanship, and a strong understanding of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, coordinate, and supervise the wrestling program.
• Teach proper wrestling techniques, strategy, and rules.
• Foster a positive and respectful team environment.
• Promote sportsmanship, integrity, and character development.
• Ensure compliance with all NYSPHSAA Section VI rules and regulations.
• Manage team practices, games, and competition schedules.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.

Qualifications:

• Required Certifications:
  • NYS Coaching certification in Wrestling (0040)
  • CPR & AED certification
  • HEADS UP Concussion Training certification
• Other Requirements:
  • Functional understanding of NYSPHSAA Section VI rules and regulations
  • Ability to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance

Position Details:

• Appointment Status: Annual contract
• Position Status: Part-time
• Stipend: $5,000 - $5,600
• Itinerant Location: High School
