Youth Program Coordinator
Description

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Youth Program Coordinator to develop and facilitate programs for youth athletes nationwide. This role is critical in promoting the sport of triathlon, fostering healthy habits, building confidence, encouraging an active lifestyle, and creating a fun environment. Additionally, the Youth Program Coordinator will educate parents and youth athletes about the Athlete Development Model and the various pathways to participate and compete in triathlon and other multisport events, ranging from non-competitive youth programs to the elite pathway for Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide oversight, management, and exceptional service to all USA Triathlon youth programs.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to build, launch, and oversee youth programming at every level of the sport.
  • Manage partnerships with organizations and constituents to promote and host youth programs nationwide.
  • Under the direction of the Manager, oversee all youth planning efforts, including research, planning, budgeting, collaboration, and presentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build resources, youth content, community programs, and more.
  • Manage logistics and track and measure registrations or other key metrics related to all youth programs.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service and communication to parents, constituents, and youth athletes.
  • Perform all necessary administrative responsibilities, including phone calls, emails, constituent engagement, and other program-related duties.
  • Act as a liaison between youth development and the High Performance team.
  • Support SafeSport requirements and safety needs at all events.
  • Promote diversity in the sport through inclusion initiatives and foster an inclusive environment for all youth athletes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software/digital functionality such as database management, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and social media.
  • Extremely personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to speak and present in front of both small and large groups.
  • Knowledge of the sport of triathlon is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as part of a team, including effective coordination with members of other departments.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; or a combination of education and experience that yields the necessary competencies.
  • 1-3 years of related experience, including sales, marketing, outbound growth, or project/program management.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or sport management preferred.
  • Experience within the multisport or endurance industries preferred.

Other:

  • Some travel required.
  • Some overtime and weekend work required.
