We are seeking an experienced and dynamic College Basketball Event Director to join our team at Triple Crown Sports. This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the setup and execution of college basketball tournaments, maintaining event status, and building tournament structures. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships within college basketball, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating exceptional event experiences.

Duties:

• Manage and oversee the setup and execution of college basketball tournaments.
• Maintain event status and create/build tournament structures.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with coaches, school and conference administrators, NCAA, and WBIT regarding WNIT tournaments, Cancun Challenge MTE, and Triple Crown Sports.
• Solicit, contract, and secure teams for participation in the college basketball tournaments.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the college basketball market, tracking and researching teams, rosters, and rankings to forecast future tournament fields and matchups.
• Collaborate in the selection and bracketing of the college basketball tournaments.
• Develop and execute budgets for the college basketball tournaments.
• Provide guidance and management to event support staff working at game sites.
• Manage team travel for the college basketball tournaments.
• Travel at least 30% of the year, including some weekends.
• Work closely with Triple Crown Sports Support Divisions for shipping needs, merchandise orders, press releases, social media, event coverage, TV broadcasts, and website updates throughout the year.

Ideal Candidates:

• 3-5 years of college basketball experience, including operations background.
• Established relationships in college basketball and administration.
• Strong relationship management skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Effective negotiation skills in contract execution.
• Experience organizing and running basketball events, camps, and/or tournaments.
• Ability to think strategically and plan effectively.
• Strong customer service skills.

Who We Are:

Triple Crown specializes in premium-produced events in four sports (baseball, basketball, softball, and volleyball) played in destination locations that stretch from San Diego to Myrtle Beach and everything in between. TCS produces a men’s and women’s DI college basketball event in Mexico called the Cancun Challenge, along with the women’s basketball Preseason and Postseason DI WNIT, the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge (DI softball), the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (DI NIT), and the National Invitational Softball Championship (DI NIT).
